Seeing, that people will not understand, since they look at the finger are attached on the finger and like to learn pointing at the moon by them self, without having learned, or adopted, Atma thought some two or three week ago to write about the impact of the 6 Concile and the transgression of the monks who gave in their "compassion" the Dhamma to lay people so that it could possible survive next to the Vipassana Movement, which both are the immediately reason for the lost of the Sangha. How ever, since he thought it actually a useless energy wasted he did not and gave his limited time into other things.
Now where people can make livelihood out of Dhamma, holding the heritage already in their hand and miss use it, who would invest even in a appropriately funeral or for some treatments. Wasted money and time, they are gone.
The foolish monks who started to wrongly assosiate with laypeople and started to use their ways and means focusing on their target, is an approach form the western countries "The best way to help others is to teach them how to catch fished" but everybody who ever had gone in this matter knows that if you learn people without faith and virtue fishing, they will simply catch as long till the waters are empty. And here we are.
Like the people in Asia, who got power saw. What ever energy others aside of the foolish "compassioned" people giving of support, will try to teach them to use the tool for a benefit but not for destruction, will come to late for the forest.
People are not able to stick with the basics. When ever they have learned anything they use it for worldly purposes.
Once they have fallen form the trust into the Gems and fall back into the trust in science and technology and what else than worshiping old age, sickness and death do they? People lose there sense again and again. What they can not use for their worldly gain, they either destroy of modify it, making forges out of it.
I believe a seventh Buddhist council would never come to pass, divided as the sangha is these days. And if so, it would be probably not a good thing. Popularity would win, not Dhamma, with faithful conservation of carefully preserved time-honored tradition being shunned in favour of modernizing reinterpretation and text-critical scholarship.. Not to speak that these days in our computerized age probably hardly if any such eminent monks of great learning exist as they still did 60 years ago, as for example the great Mingun Sayadaw. And if they do they are probably far and wide in between and such skills and their importance hardly recognized. [right: bit here the first notion - gain, intellectual gain such as texts as target, not at all the practice and tradition because that is something they do not know | and here following the resume of the consumers ideal ->]
That is how I see it. As limited as my perspective is, I believe my pessimism on this is justified, although one does not have to be pessimistic about it. A postmodern age can have its values too. Free to be modified and refactored into poetry.
We can be grateful for the unsullied records of knowledge that has reached us until this day and age through the hands and minds of those who have preserved and kept it alive through their practice and simply try to make the best use of it.
So they will worship monks who worship science and technology and rather to bend there views follow the stream of the world and the stream of aging, sickness and death. That is what people normally do, when they see their parents dying, they look for things which look more constant.
So rather they take the gift of their parents to work for their liberation, follow their advises and possible keep things as long as possible alive, they think they are smart, since what they have on comfortably they think that that is the place to put gratitude into, they think people who gave them drugs made them addicted and lazy are those whom they should dedicate there gratitude to.
Since this is a never ending random and people as long as they do not see the four mountains crashing from the four directions on to them, is pretty useless to make them understand that their run straight into them or it will come when they stay where they are. When ever pointing on how to build an later, as soon as they see a sign elevator they are gone. And worshiping the modern times of elevator. Now no idea why they are not able to step even two flours by feet any more.
Yes, Atma is also postmodern age can have its values too. One can develop a lot of gratitude that one has not fallen into this trap. But it seems to be a value for very less in this age and people who are wise know why the trap pointer are much venerable.
Nobody, weather monks nor lay people, are in large devoted to practice the basics but all of them are on the lane of becoming and caught by Baka and Mara. Why scarify anything when we now have so much merits left that such is not needed to gain again and again.
Be a prevent-or and somebody how does a different. There is no use to turn the trick where people look for food. Or google that's fine and share who to get this and that food in your community of dealer. That also fine. And you can tell them why its better to stick to that what is lasting long in this world, so you will be long time together. That is the meaning of Sangha (bondage) in Samsara. Buddhism 2.0. Stay tuned to be part of the 7. Council inventions, you will be amazed. Atma will not squealing them forehand but you will love them.
Since the are no more kings and kingdoms in this world, it will be nessesary to have it sponsored by goolge microsoft and other kings in this world. You would not like to have it happend in North Korea, not to speak of the travel monks but that would be possible the last place where such could happen, for the welfare of many (who are left to be helped). But the corrupter monks will probably arrive there sooner with the fellow ship of consume.
