Letter from President of the European Commission regarding ''Buddhist Values in Business and its Potential for Europe'' conference
Dear Members and Friends of the European Buddhist Union,
Over many years, the European Commission has engaged in a close dialogue with religious organisations across Europe. Following the implementation of the Treaty of Lisbon, the dialogue with churches, religions as well as philosophical and non-confessional organisations in Europe is now enshrined in primary law.
Let me assure you that I attach great personal importance to this dialogue. Religions play an important role in the lives of many European citizens, both in sustaining their spiritual well being and supporting them during these times of economic and social change. I appreciate the involvement of the European Buddhist Union in this dialogue through their participation in meeting and through discussing important European policy issues with their members.
This is a defining time for Europe. This moment requires decisions and leadership not only from European institutions and Governments, but from the European business community too.
I trust that the ''Buddhist Values in Business and its Potential for Europe'' seminar will raise awareness in the business community of the need for high levels of social cohesion, respect for human rights, human dignity, equality between men and women,
and respect for our environment.
With every best wish for a constructive and fruitful seminar.
Best regards,
José Manuel Barroso
President of the European Commission

-> Environmental problems in BhutanTrouble in the mountains
Bhutan may be relatively isolated and not too vulnerable to population pressure, but that doesn’t mean its biodiversity and other natural resources are free from problems.

-> Bhutanese Wood Industries “Saw-Millers”There are lots of issues concerning with the supply of woods to the society for the constructions, Thing is we need to preserve the forest which the constitution itself states. Now the problem here is that why those Saw-Millers are not ready to change the sawing technology which it could save lots of timber and can make it available for the large society rather then adapting on old technology and creating more waste then what it can actually provide. Changing into
new technology can actually maintain the % of forest needed in the constitution and side by can also meet the demand of the society.

Buddhist Values in Business and its Potential for Europe
In regard of "respect for human rights, human dignity, equality between men and women", a acquaintance was requested form the princes of Buthan to teach nuns martial art to fix the problem of raping of nuns a little...
Buddhist design the new wheel of Samsara! Great Business and of course most sustainable, within and without.
Maybe one day somebody will come and teach the way out...
maybe a "Buddhist", somehow different attached to the world.
but ill then, we continue to cry...
Nearly two years ago, BBS reported about the circulation of Bhutanese homemade adult movies and people everywhere made a huge hue and cry – this is evolution of of newly unabashed culture in Bhutan and the tendencies in our people- particularly, the youth to attempt. This is how our social values, vitality and respect are threatened and how we lose our GNH values as the globalization becomes unbridled.
We are living in digital era and the digital age means everything can be done in simplest, shortest and in qucikest way. With technology like mobiles and cameras of different features in hand, it can serve any kind of purpose. The emergence of culture of eroticism or voyeuristic chapter in Bhutan is all because of our mobiles and trendy cameras. Technology was invented never for snapping and making adult videos. People may make only one video because people will say I have made only one. But the moment it reaches someone’s mobile, Bluetooth can do wonder and will reach everyone on their mobiles.
The creator will be busy to find out how it has spread but the harm will be already done before he knows how it has spread! Next time when you see the Bhutanese (porn) star, it can be your neighbor or someone else of whom you can identify with and Bhutan is a small country where a majority of us knows each other. We are less than seven hundred thousand population and revealing the identity or finding the name of the star will be much easier and cannot be a horrendous tasks like in other countries. And, the creator will say at that time I was drunk and can’t remember very well. This is how lousy and dirty culture commences, and become casualties themselves... http://www.bhutanspeaks.bt/rest/be-star-at-your-own-risk/Round Call One should not make an effort everywhere,
