The Topic is twofold:

* using [lkh] for post and topio here or not, and if, should "we" change color and size or not. (Atma made a poll, but please also write certain arguments)

Atma used to creat it because on PC the front had been to small and also the space between the lines was to small to show the foots and heads rightly. The color has been taken, because SEAsians are normaly very attached to color and form and white and black could be to boring for them to have certain needed joy, even under Buddhasasaniks...
Now, on a tablet such is really no issue, because it's easy to zoom in and out,  but as Atma remembers, on Pc it was good to have a different layout. Of course a browser and device specific performents can be possble made in the css file.
From the vvew of performance of the datas now, it would be of course best to have as less as possible styling codes, which will eventually produce more work in the future, but can also be "deleted" by a relative simple oder via the database later. Those are the reasons why Atma is asking. Of course its also a little lesser work to make the single post (a easy copy able form will come as Block when posting in the forum, soon). You choice and trouble with choice for now.  :)

* Fonts files. To make things very correct ans also according the laws, own (maybe the Sanghas) fonts would be needed. Of course there are many, but they have owner and latest if one likes to print, it can be easy a law problem of copy right, not to think an precepts. Once such fonts are owned, they can be put on the server and nobody would even need to indirectly download third part fonts. (of course such is also missing for roman and pali for sangham and ZzE) One easy and simple readable font would be needed for khmer and one (traditional) for pali in khmer (similar like in the Kopi)
Its just to let it be known and even let it be known to others who maybe would like to support in this issue and make some merits.

Not sure how it is for you, using a pc or laptop, as for the use of tablet (size does not really matter) it would be "nicer" to have the font a little bit smaller and a little bit darker, not such a shiny blue.

Namassami Bhante,
For the one, who has installed khmer unicode, they dont have any problem viewing khmer letter. The space between line is also readable (like Latin too).
If you dont have khmer unicode, the khmer letter will appear too small, that you cannot read without enlarge it.
Normally, if you dont set certain font, it will appear automatically as "MoolBoran". I think, that is standard font used on the website.

Black color is ok too. (just my opinion :) )

Then Atma, after asking Njom Moritz , would say that it is good, faster, energie safing, not so open for mistakes, to contionue without language code here in the Tipitaka project.

In that case, just continue Schwarz auf Weis and no need to worry about old post, they will be made equal step by step.

Bhante,
one, i have forgotten to tell you, if we write in quote, khmer letter is a bit smaller than outside quote. It is readable, but if possible, it should be the same size in and outside quote.

(additional) I have tried 2 sutta in different size (without khmer code). It is different from other website indeed. In the Forum, the space between line is too closely.
So, maybe better to use that khmer code here.

Atma made the color a darker blue, the size a little bit smaller and therefore also the line space for "lkh". Also the Pali has been modified so that it does not disturb to much within other languages: same size but a dark blue and "New Courier" font.

Let it be known how it now looks for you, suggestion and maybe even screen shoot (incl. the browser and device you use) since all show a little different and Atma can not check it for other software as that he has.

Namassaami Bhante,
The color and size are ok, but the line space should be more. (attachmen in quote. The first one without code).

Good that Norum attaches the screenshot, since for the view on this tablt, it seemed to be perfect (see shot).
Atma has given the linespace 170% again (secound shot; you maybe need to refresh the page so that it would load the new style sheet). How does it do now? Maybe checking also in other browser is good.

Its noe 180%. Atma is geizig with it, because the big line space is disturbing when mixed khmer and roman script. The smaller possible, the better.

* Johann : Atma will now go for alms. It must beb1 or 2:00 for you. How ever, it will be of great fruit spending saturday nights not hanging around in discos, bars or wathing TV. Mudita for the eagerness to stick to biout rather to atbiout. Most if they do puñña would cut of time from their working time, from their duties in regard of others. Those who take time they usually would do akusala are seldom under the seldom. This, like Norum shows, leads to both: wellfare and wealth in this world, the next and even beyound. Sadhu.

Quote from: Norum here
  Strikethrough-command seems not works in Khmer text- command.

Yes, Norum . It's set "text-decoration: none;"

Not sure if needed. It was done because it cause the text mostly no more readable:

hfhjghh

But it would be also no problem to make text decorations possible.

Have changed it. But still it does not display for Atma... ::) (solved, the browser did not load the new css file automaticaly)

Code: "now currend css" [Select]
:lang(kh) {
   color: #3c1a77;
   font-size: 1.4em;
   line-height: 180%;
}

What Atma stilldoes not understand is, what the font size chances if bold or italic is used... ::)

Now Nyoms correction was visible. How ever, Atma deleted it and its not good to use it, because if one just copy and past it without the html codes, only text, the stroke would not be diplayed and the spelling would be wrong.  Its good to use just the colors and * or ˚ for other kinds of corrections.

If this is not enough, we could use { } but Atma thinks that it is not needed at least. Just marking the word red, which has been changed is enough. The rest can be made in the list of corrections at the end of each book.

What Atma stilldoes not understand is, what the font size chances if bold or italic is used... ::)

Namasakara Bhante, _/\_

the problem is with:
Code: [Select]
font-size: 1.4em
The unit em is a relative unit. It means "1.4 times the current font size", whatever the current font-size at that point is.
The problem comes because the font-size property is also inherited to all nested tags inside that tag. Each tag inside would also have the font-size property of 1.4rem or "1.4 times the current size" automatically, and these then all become multiplied.
So for simple
Code: [Select]
[kh][/kh]
that means font-size 1.4.
With
Code: [Select]
[kh][i][/i][/kh]
it becomes font-size 1.4*1.4 = 1.96, and so on...

The solution is to use the absolute unit rem instead of em. Sizes in rem specify the size relative to the root of the HTML document, instead of relative to the parent element.

So I changed the code now to this:
Code: "now currend css" [Select]
:lang(kh) {
   color: #3c1a77;
   font-size: 1.4rem;
   line-height: 180%;
}

:lang(th) {
color: #BF4DA2;
font-size: 1.4rem;
line-height: 120%;
}
