« on: April 23, 2013, 01:44:09 PM »

Mr. TheY, was so kind to offer an easy basic course in Thai conversation. We will call it [Easy conversation]

Thank you on this place!

Here a guidance how to join, how to do and how to train.

[Easy conversation] Easy basic Thai for Dhammika
our current generously teacher: Mr. TheY

How to join:

If you like to accept Mr. TheY's offer and if you like to join, it would be good to declare this here in this topic. Please also tell in what amount and ways you like to join, so that TheY gets a small overview about the needs and circumstances of any participator. Its also a possibility to get known each other a little and a sign of respect and value of his effort.
So maybe you can tell in some words why you participate and how often you will train here.
Please keep in mind, that the teachings are offered and free given and for this of high value.

How to do (procedure):

Before starting a new lesson, please look if there is already a topic and use it. Do not start a new lesson if you have not finished more then two lessons yet.
If you participate in an existing lesson, bookmark it, so that you are informed in regard of new advices.

1. Student creates a new Topic:
* When ever you like to know a simple sentence, please open a new topic and give it a title starting with [Easy conversation] "sentence (or issue)"
* Record the sentence in English (if possible, so TheY could also have some benefits in learning some spelling in english), spoken, spelled. You could use free sound record 7.3.1 to record for example (uncomfortably we can not share a totally free given possibility yet)
* Upload it attached to your post
Sample
* Bookmark your topic, so that you are always informed, when you get a lesson.

2. First step of the teacher:

* Mr. TheY will then write it in Thai language and give some information
* If he has the possibility, he will also upload the recorded sentence spoken and spelled
* if he does not have the possibility please use google translate (as suggested, please look here for more detail )

3. Training step by student:

* If Mr. TheY has uploaded a record listen to TheYs record
* If Mr. TheY has only written the sentence in Thai, please copy it to google translate and listen to it.
* Repeat it minimum 3 time and after that make a record while you spell and speak it three times as well.
* Make a new post, add questions if you have and add your records

4. Second step by the teacher:

* The teacher will upload the file from you and listen to it.
* If all is correct, he will sign your post with , maybe even with if it is very good.
* If it is not correct or not good yet, he will answer you post and suggest further and give you additional a chance/lesson. Your post will be signed with or even with , if it is very poor.
* As soon as you post has an , you lesson is finished, if not you should continue.

5. Further training
* Repeating of step 3 and step 4 till your lesson is approved.

6. Feel free to start a new topic
* You have not more then 2 lessons open and unfinished feel free to create a new lesson.
* If your old lessons are not finished do not open a new, of cause you can participate in any existing topic.

If you have any special general questions or ideas or hints toward Mr. TheY, please use the topic: Request thai conversation here

Thanks again for the offer.

I gratefully like to use this given opportunity.

I have no idea of Thai language, but as I speak a little Khmer, I can understand especially words form Pali a little and as far as I have seen, Thai have many similar word even they sound a little different (Khmer usually learn Thai very fast as I know, if they like). Also in regard of letters, the Thai letter origin from the Khmer letters or are similar a little, so it will be maybe easier for me, as I remember a little the Khmer alphabet.

I will try to use the possibility as often as possible and as long as I am here and the possibility exists, just to have some basic knowledge of Thai. May Buddhist teachers are speaking Thai language and it might be useful to understand it a in the future.  Here in Cambodia are also many Thai people who, mostly business people but also monks and it's also good to know some sentence as a gesture of politeness.

Beside of this small personal interest, which is of cause very secondary, I like to help a little to develop such possibilities here and to know and to help one needs to be involved and interested.

So please, Mr. TheY, accept me as you passerby student for a while.
