The Buddha - in search of who might understand the Dhamma quick - approached his former five friend in the ascetic his previous training, to set the Wheel of Dhamma in motion. The five ascetics became the first of the new founded Saṅgha. Ven. Kondañña was the secound Arahat of the now six Arahats in the world.

Mv I 8: Mārakathā — The Discussion of Māra [Alt.:"line by line "] {CS: vin.mv.01.08; PTS: Mv I 11.1} [Khematto]. Māra, the Evil One tries to convince the Buddha that he is still in his bondage.

Mv I 9: Tīhi saraṇagamanehi upasampadākathā — The Discussion of Acceptance by Three Goings-for-refuge [Alt.:"line by line "] {CS: vin.mv.01.09; PTS: Mv I 12.1} [Khematto]. The Buddha sends the now sixty new Arahat, equal him in his liberation, out in all directions to teach the Dhamma. As more and more came to ask for going forth, the Buddha allowed his Bhikkhus to give the going forth and acceptance by the means of three fold refuge.

Mv I 10: Dutiyamārakathā — The Second Discussion of Māra  [Alt.:"line by line "] {CS: vin.mv.01.10; PTS: Mv I 13.1} [Khematto]. Māra tries another time to convince the Buddha that he is still under his control.

Mv I 11: Bhaddavaggiyavatthu: The Discussion of the Auspicious Group [Alt.:"line by line "] {CS: vin.mv.01.11; PTS: Mv I 14.1} [Khematto]. A group of thirty auspicious friend enjoyed themselves with their wifes. One of the lost his partner, and on search for the thievery prostitute, they encounter the Buddha who dwelled in the same forest. Suggested that the discovery of oneself might by more of worth then to go after a wife they listened to the Dhamma and after gained it, the whole group joined the Saṅgha of Bhikkhus.

Mv I 12: Uruvelapāṭihāriyakathā — The Discussion of the Marvels at Uruvelā [Alt.:"line by line "] {CS: vin.mv.01.12; PTS: Mv I 15.1} [Khematto]. Uruvelakassapa, the leader of 500 coiled-hair ascetics, of himself thinking he is an Arahat, was brought by many different miracles to reard the great contemplative highly. The told that he is far away of even the path to Arahatship, listening to the Dhamma, he asked for going forth under the Buddha. All fivehunded ascetics and also two other leaders of ascetics with they follower joined the Saṅgha and became Arahats after listening to the 'Fire Sermon'.

The young Ven. Sariputta asks Ven. Assaji, "What is your teacher's teaching?" Upon hearing the reply, Ven. Sariputta attains the fruit of stream-entry. (This is one of the suttas selected by King Asoka (r. 270-232 BCE) to be studied and reflected upon frequently by all practicing Buddhists. Mv I 14.1: Abhiññātānaṃ pabbajjā — The Going-forth of Well-known Sons [Alt.:"line by line "] {CS: vin.mv.01.14.01; PTS: Mv I 24.5} [Khematto]. After so many well-known sons of Magadhas good families as well as the former wanderers and ascetics became disciple of the Buddha, people started to criticize the great contemplative, accused him to practice for the sake of heirlessness of them and started to taunt the Monks when seeing them. By given means by the Buddha 'the noise' disappeared soon again.

Nyom could teach a little Sinhalese, and open a topic. At least such, by thinking and giving into the Sublime Sangha would be of great benefit for Nyom. Not ease to find possibility to make merits, yet surely devotion is also one.
