"Wissen mach Kopfweh", die Alten sagen...

Ist Wissen eine Bürde? Oder ist es Halbwissen, sprich der Anteil an Unwissenheit, der Wissen in Verkleidung in Bürde aufkommen läßt? Kann Wissen solange sich die Ansammlungen nicht völlig aufgelößt haben, ohne Bürde aufkommen?

"Die dummen haben es leicht", die Alten sagen...

Ist Dummheit eine Freude? Oder ist es Halbdummheit, sprich der Anteil Wissen, der Dummheit in Verkleidung in Freude aufkommen läßt? Kann Dummheit, solange sich die Ansammlungen nicht formiert haben, ohne Freude aufkommen?

is knowledge a burden?

Is knowledge a burden? Or is it half-knowledge, hence the part of ignorance, which gives knowledge in disguise rise as a burden? Is it possible that knowledge without burden arises as long as the aggregates are not finally dissolved?

"The ignorant are at ease", the elders say...

Is ignorance a joy? Or is it half-ignorance, hence a part of knowledge, which gives ignorance in disguise rise as a joy? Is it possible that ignorance without joy arises as long as the aggregates are not finally formed?

I will try to give an anology to doing math:

I already know the result which I want to prove for my diploma thesis.
But I don't know how to get there step by step.

So this "knowledge" of the result, which I still am not able to prove, is a burden. Always thinking of the result that I already know, it is difficult to concentrate on actually exploring, step by step, from the little that I really know by understanding, without knowing how to breach the gap.
And it is like that not only with the end result. In mathematics it is often a problem, that one has to use results of others, which one has not proven or understood step by step by oneself. It would be far too time-consuming. So such knowledge becomes a burden, as one is "cheating" somehow, only using symbols without understanding anymore.

One can become really confused, collecting more and more "pieces of knowledge" that are everywhere available and seem to be related to the problem somehow. This might help. That might help. Without really understanding. In the end one might end up in the mental hospital. ;P Having lost the way back to humble "not knowing", knowing that one does not know, so that one is able to explore again, humbly from the beginning, with understanding which gives joy.

Maybe this is related somehow to knowledge of the Dhamma, and knowledge in terms of words vs. knowledge of the heart, without pretense and preconceived notions.

Knowledge in exterior things does not exist. That is the problem. But we have to use these means of exterior communication and understanding wisely and humbly, knowing that there is no knowledge in them. Even in our bodies and our minds there is no knowing.

Accepting this then one may be able to sit back and joyfully explore reality. Without "knowledge" that gives headaches, but with knowledge that gives joy.


So, just my thoughts. I hope they are useful in some way. Maybe I was spinning around too much. Before I become philosophical, I better try to get back to my math, fast.

Ich werde versuchen ein Gleichnis mit Mathe zu geben:

Ich kenne bereits das Resulat, was ich in meiner Diplomthese prüfen möchte.
Aber ich weiß nicht, wie ich dort Schritt für Schritt hinkomme.

Dieses "Wissen" vom Ergebnis, daß ich noch immer nicht fähig bin zu prüfen, ist eine Bürde. Stets an daß Resultat denkend, daß ich schon kenne, ist es schwierig sich auf daß eigentliche Erforschen zu konzentrieren, Schritt für Schritt, von dort wieder ausgehend, von dem ich wirklich verstehe, ohne mich zu sorgen, wie ich die eventuelle Schwierigkeit später überwinde.

Und es ist nicht nur so mit dem Endresultat. In der Mathematik ist es oft ein Problem, daß man die Resultate anderer, die man weder Schritt für Schritt selbst geprüft, noch verstanden hat, benutzen muß. Es wäre bei weiten zu Zeitaufwändig. So wird viel Wissen zu einer Bürde, so man sich in gewisser weise "belügt, Symbole nutzend, ohne sie überhaupt noch zu verstehen.

Man kann wirklich verwirrt werden, wenn man mehr und mehr "Burchstücke des Wissens", die überall erhältlich sind sammelt und dies scheint in Verbindung mit dem Problem zu stehen. Dies mag helfen. Das mag helfen. Ohne wirklich zu verstehen. Am Ende mag man dann in der Irrenanstalt landen ;P Denn Weg zurück zur Bescheidenheit verloren "weiß nicht", wissend, daß man nicht weiß, sodaß man wieder fähig ist weiter zu forschen, bescheiden vom Beginn, mit einem Verständnis, daß Freude bringt.

Vielleicht ist das in gewisser Weise ähnlich mit dem Wissen von Dhamma, und Wissen in Form von Worten gegenüber Herzenswissen, ohne Scheingründe und erdachten Vorstellungen.

Wissen sind Äußerlichkeiten, die nicht existieren. Das ist das Problem. Doch wir müssen diese Äußerlichkeiten der Kommunikation verwenden und weise und bescheiden verstehen, daß da kein Wissen darin enthalten ist. Selbst in unseren Körpern und unsern Geistern ist da kein Wissen.

Dies anzunehmen, mag man vielleicht fähig sein, sich zurückzusetzen und freudvoll die Realität erkunden. Ohne "Wissen" daß Kopfweh macht, jedoch mit Wissen, das Freude gibt.

So nur meine Gedanken. Ich hoffe es ist in gewisser Weise nützlich. Vielleicht bin ich etwas zu viel abgeschweift. Bevor ich philosophisch werden, gehe ich lieber schnell zurück zu meiner Mathe.

Von einem Baum fallen

Es ist dasselbe mit abhängigem Entstehen. „Unwissenheit ist die Ursache für Gestaltungen. Gestaltungen sind die Ursache von Bewusstsein. Bewusstsein ist die Ursache für Name und Form.“ Wir haben das gelernt, erinnern uns, und es ist wahr. So hat Buddha die Dinge für seine Schüler zertrennt, um sie zu studieren. Aber wenn die Dinge wirklich aufkommen, sind sie zu schnell für dich, um sie zu zählen.

Es ist gleich, als ob man von einem Baum – bamm! - auf den Boden fällt. Wir wissen nicht, an welchem Ast wir vorbei sind. In dem Moment, wo der Geist mit einem angenehmen Objekt beschäftigt ist, wenn es etwas ist, das er mag, geht es schnurgerade zu „angenehm“. Er kennt die verbindenden Schritte dazwischen nicht. Sie folgen im Einklang mit den Texten, aber sie verlassen sie auch. Sie sagen nicht: „Da, hier ist Unwissenheit. Da, hier ist Gestaltung. Da, hier ist Bewusstsein. Da, hier ist Name und Form.“ Sie haben keine Zeichen, dass du sie lesen kannst. Es ist, wie wenn du aus einem Baum fällst. Buddha sprach über die mentalen Momente in vollem Detail, aber ich nutze den Vergleich, aus einem Baum zu fallen. Wenn du von einem Baum rutschst – bamm! - misst du nicht die Meter und Zentimeter, die du gefallen bist. Alles, was du weißt, ist, dass du auf den Boden gefallen bist und dass es schon weh tut.

Also mein Geist hat sich gerade etwas im Übersetzen von Luang Pu's wenigen Lehrreden verfangen.


Da gibt es die "Geschenke die er hinterließ " und darin:

In March, 1964, a large number of scholarly and meditating monks — the first group of "Dhamma Missionaries" — came to pay their respects to Luang Pu and to ask for teachings and advice that they could use in their work of spreading the Dhamma. Luang Pu taught them Dhamma on the ultimate level, both for them to teach others and for them to put into practice themselves so as to reach that level of truth. In conclusion, he gave them a piece of wisdom for them to take and contemplate:

"No matter how much you think, you won't know.
Only when you stop thinking will you know.
But still, you have to depend on thinking so as to know."


Den letzen Satz hatte ich zuerst anders übersetzt, doch so steht es hier. Würde sich der jene nur recht erinnern.

Was aber vielleicht ganz auffällig ist, ist das diese Zwei Gruppen lustiger Weise beide die inneren Rollen getauscht haben. So sind die besinnlichen außen tätig und jene, die die sich noch um das außen kümmern sollten, fangen zum äusserverinnerlichen an. Irgendwie ist da alles zum stehen gekommen, in diesem Rollentausch.  :) Aber ich glaub da hilft mir das denken jetzt nicht heraus. Oder meint da einer, eine Person wäre vom Wissen abhängig oder ist da mit have was anderes gemeint?
