In relation of Perfection for Enlightenment , "seeing hardness as hradness" was made to a topic:

Quote from: Johann
Upasaka, Upasika, Buddhabodhisattas,

since Upanissaya (strong condition) is a very beloved topic of the lineage of which you nourish here in the origin sociaties in SEasia, and Upasika Sarah counted the matter of "understanding hardness as hardness" as a side commentary in previous email, my person shall give food on how "hardness", Upanissaya, toward that leading to hardness, is nurished, developed and maintained:

And what is a person talented with Nissaya (proper condition)? Here, what ever knowledgeable, familary with the teachings Monk there might be. A knower of the teaching, the conduct of discipline, such person one approaches from time to time, asks and questions him: "How does this regard, Ven. Sir? What is the meaning of this?" And those Venerables are making the unaccessed accessible, explain him what is not clear and remove his doubt in certain doubtful cases. This is a person talented in Nissaya. (A i 147, free transl. from "Das Patimokkha" by Ven. Nyanadassana.)

Like if someone used to walk in mud on difficult roads would come to step on hard ground, does not simply recognize it with "oh, what a luck" and then walk his usual ways, but right after seeks for another firm place to put his next step, having recognized "hardness", would step by step work his way out, so too, one seeks, develops and nurishes one conditions (nissaya) toward the Unbound, the track to security left behind.

May there be lot of entertaining (upadana) in regard of Upanissay and it's paccaya (causes) and proper joy and proper estimate of ones "own luck" but not just like having seen another falling star, walking on the "usual" road.

Maybe, as it will be possible also a not so beloved topic, your leaders here, like to elaborate on the matter of developing the right conditions, value one gained conditions, maintain of what has been arisen, seek after what has not been arisen, outwardly and inwardly: e.g. "paramis" or let my person tell it "perfections to be able to access the path of the Noble Ones"

Samana Johann

See also Upanissaya in the Abhidhamma section.

Why it important to value Conditions? - Warum Bedingungen wertschätzen?

Working on better and strong conditions, Upanissayapaccaya

And Nissaya - Vom Glück zum Fundament auf das man baut , for general understandig of Nissaya and the level of meanings of it, understanding.

People with not or less Nissaya to the Gems, would be even annoyed meeting an recluse.
If they have certain Nissaya, they would have some amout of join till a point "how lucky am I".
If certain greedy after certain Nissaya, they would use the situation for a certain sacrifice, or to pay respect.
If they are good, they would ask in ways of "what would be good to do, what would be good to abound".
If they are even better in Nissaya, they would addopt advices, even seek for future contact.
If having real Upanissaya, they would take on real hardships to stay in contact, follow and learn, till a point even addopting parts, if not all, of the way of life, lifelihood.

Not only is it seldom to meet such old vipaka, and even more seldom is it that reasons, causes for Upanissaya, upanissayapaccayena, would be conducted.

Not easy to recognize hardness as hardness, not easy to strife and let go of habitual tracks for it and build on certain hardness found further. And they more you are told like a child, told simply ways in the right way, steady, from young to old, your chances to have proximate attention in this regard increases. One wouldn't have much chances, having grown up in a "cool and enlightened" society at all.
