After a long while I am thankful to share glimpses of gratefulness again.
Being together with practising parents in buddhism a lot of different views and lessons in attentiveness in everyday life.
Starting with a pair of pigeons that leave in the early morning and come at dawning to find some rest in the pine tree in our garden. The short moment every day when the eyes of my father light up when he sees the pair resting well in the tree every night.
Being witness to their everyday struggle of their own karma and trying to be tolerant and courteous to each other against their own feelings and laughing together on their shortcomings.
Being witness to their daily disciplines, routines and always looking out on helpfulness.
Shaving my father's head the day before new moon and full moon.
Preparing a festive reception of all their children in their house because one of their children has birthday. Preparing this incident days before, preparing the food at 1am in the morning, being attentive in doing without any chattering. Since the birthday reception happened to fall on a Siladay this time chantings and meditation took place before the guests appeared.
Timely actions in a timely manner.
There is so much that we can learn from parents. They are great teachers in life and always remind me to honour all the teachers I have in life.
May we all cherish them. Sadhu.
