2024 Mar 11 09:14:04

[Original post:]

Nyom Moritz and Nyom Cheav Villa followed the undertaking of asubha-reflection at the genocide museum.

It's certain different then 15 years ago, when my person used to visit it the first time, since the city was still heavily crowded with poor people, beggars, handicapped people even within the museum and many of the time  witness around.
Today the area is crowded with pleasures, luxury cars, shops, houses, fine clothed people and only western visitors are found.

Althought pictures try to give impressions of hell, aging, sickness and death, caused here by being after pride of equality and productivity, it's certain much more difficult when sound, smell, touch of suffering are missed, yet there is still room for reflection on death, actions and results, kamma, conditions which can quick arise to let fruits rippen.

Seldom is it that beings meet the heavenly messangers, even one after another and also the path to escape.

Both Upasaka made a lot of pictures and may try to let you get touched by the first noble Truth, the truth of suffering.

May all rejoice with their merits done here, as a starter of a normal busy week, returning after 3 hours at 12:00, and may the Devas inform those not having been touched yet.

Sadhu, Sadhu

Those pictures look quite professional, transport saṃvega, the first 3 heavenly messanger well and also the alternative, the fouth, Nyom Cheav Villa . Give a lot of space for saddha to arise and can be seen as teaching Dhamma by pictures.

Kana (yes), Brah Ang,

I, Kana, touched maraṇanussati (reflection on death) since childhood, especially at the time when hearing the sound of playing of funeral music and became modest and saṃvega arose.

Kana has seen that to live requires real burden, just to eat food, it can be hard to chew. As still a child, Kana didn't loved to eat much. Because tired of chewing...

រហូតដល់ធំ កូណាបានស្តាប់លោកសូត្រធម៌ ដែរអត់បកប្រែ និងពេលក្រោយដឹងថាជាធម៌សង្វេគដដែរ ។

For a large part, Kana had listened to Venerables reciting Dhamma. Well, not translated, an later came to know that it was the Dhamma of saṃvega.

How transient are all component things!
Growth is their nature and decay:
They are produced, they are dissolved again:
And then is best,–when they have sunk to rest.[1]

Duggata Sutta: Fallen on Hard Times

At Savatthi. There the Blessed One said: "From an inconstruable beginning comes transmigration. A beginning point is not evident, though beings hindered by ignorance and fettered by craving are transmigrating & wandering on. When you see someone who has fallen on hard times, overwhelmed with hard times, you should conclude: 'We, too, have experienced just this sort of thing in the course of that long, long time.'

"Why is that? From an inconstruable beginning comes transmigration. A beginning point is not evident, though beings hindered by ignorance and fettered by craving are transmigrating & wandering on. Long have you thus experienced stress, experienced pain, experienced loss, swelling the cemeteries — enough to become disenchanted with all fabricated things, enough to become dispassionate, enough to be released."

Assu Sutta: Tears

At Savatthi. There the Blessed One said: "From an inconstruable beginning comes transmigration. A beginning point is not evident, though beings hindered by ignorance and fettered by craving are transmigrating & wandering on. What do you think, monks: Which is greater, the tears you have shed while transmigrating & wandering this long, long time — crying & weeping from being joined with what is displeasing, being separated from what is pleasing — or the water in the four great oceans?"

"As we understand the Dhamma taught to us by the Blessed One, this is the greater: the tears we have shed while transmigrating & wandering this long, long time — crying & weeping from being joined with what is displeasing, being separated from what is pleasing — not the water in the four great oceans."

"Excellent, monks. Excellent. It is excellent that you thus understand the Dhamma taught by me.

"This is the greater: the tears you have shed while transmigrating & wandering this long, long time — crying & weeping from being joined with what is displeasing, being separated from what is pleasing — not the water in the four great oceans.

"Long have you (repeatedly) experienced the death of a mother. The tears you have shed over the death of a mother while transmigrating & wandering this long, long time — crying & weeping from being joined with what is displeasing, being separated from what is pleasing — are greater than the water in the four great oceans.

"Long have you (repeatedly) experienced the death of a father... the death of a brother... the death of a sister... the death of a son... the death of a daughter... loss with regard to relatives... loss with regard to wealth... loss with regard to disease. The tears you have shed over loss with regard to disease while transmigrating & wandering this long, long time — crying & weeping from being joined with what is displeasing, being separated from what is pleasing — are greater than the water in the four great oceans.

Seldom do monks teach very clear about kamma, do people see the killing field everywhere, having at least strong fear of wrong doing and faith in those who explain the  causes and effect.

It's not so that one instructed in the Dhamma, a disciple, would have toughts of justice, but would try all ways to teach the Dhamma. It's very "interesting" that for example on countyside where filling field had been, now the most animal, pig, chicken raise and slayer fabrics blossom, as this wheel turns on for long long time. Think how seldom a human existance and then meeting and open to listen to the Dhamma.

Maybe the young men had understood the story of the near prison and start to thing about livelihood of other kind.

It's sad reallity that people, corrupted by monks, which are not a little away from doing favors, fearing less giving, don't teach frank, taking part, and big fest dedicated for the ancestors are usually ordered killing fields, slayer there former relatives to keep up this relations of missfortunate.

While citing the Dhamma via loudspeaker... the meal will be repaired.

Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammā-sambuddhassa

"When the mind was thus concentrated, purified, bright, unblemished, rid of defilement, pliant, malleable, steady, & attained to imperturbability, I directed it to the knowledge of recollecting my past lives. I recollected my manifold past lives, i.e., one birth, two... five, ten... fifty, a hundred, a thousand, a hundred thousand, many eons of cosmic contraction, many eons of cosmic expansion, many eons of cosmic contraction & expansion: 'There I had such a name, belonged to such a clan, had such an appearance. Such was my food, such my experience of pleasure & pain, such the end of my life. Passing away from that state, I re-arose there. There too I had such a name, belonged to such a clan, had such an appearance. Such was my food, such my experience of pleasure & pain, such the end of my life. Passing away from that state, I re-arose here.' Thus I remembered my manifold past lives in their modes & details.

"This was the first knowledge I attained in the first watch of the night. Ignorance was destroyed; knowledge arose; darkness was destroyed; light arose — as happens in one who is heedful, ardent, & resolute.

"When the mind was thus concentrated, purified, bright, unblemished, rid of defilement, pliant, malleable, steady, & attained to imperturbability, I directed it to the knowledge of the passing away & reappearance of beings. I saw — by means of the divine eye, purified & surpassing the human — beings passing away & re-appearing, and I discerned how they are inferior & superior, beautiful & ugly, fortunate & unfortunate in accordance with their kamma: 'These beings — who were endowed with bad conduct of body, speech & mind, who reviled the Noble Ones, held wrong views and undertook actions under the influence of wrong views — with the break-up of the body, after death, have re-appeared in the plane of deprivation, the bad destination, the lower realms, in hell. But these beings — who were endowed with good conduct of body, speech, & mind, who did not revile the Noble Ones, who held right views and undertook actions under the influence of right views — with the break-up of the body, after death, have re-appeared in the good destinations, in the heavenly world.' Thus — by means of the divine eye, purified & surpassing the human — I saw beings passing away & re-appearing, and I discerned how they are inferior & superior, beautiful & ugly, fortunate & unfortunate in accordance with their kamma.

"This was the second knowledge I attained in the second watch of the night. Ignorance was destroyed; knowledge arose; darkness was destroyed; light arose — as happens in one who is heedful, ardent, & resolute.

"When the mind was thus concentrated, purified, bright, unblemished, rid of defilement, pliant, malleable, steady, & attained to imperturbability, I directed it to the knowledge of the ending of the mental fermentations. I discerned, as it had come to be, that 'This is stress... This is the origination of stress... This is the cessation of stress... This is the way leading to the cessation of stress... These are fermentations... This is the origination of fermentations... This is the cessation of fermentations... This is the way leading to the cessation of fermentations.' My heart, thus knowing, thus seeing, was released from the fermentation of sensuality, released from the fermentation of becoming, released from the fermentation of ignorance. With release, there was the knowledge, 'Released.' I discerned that 'Birth is ended, the holy life fulfilled, the task done. There is nothing further for this world.'

"This was the third knowledge I attained in the third watch of the night. Ignorance was destroyed; knowledge arose; darkness was destroyed; light arose — as happens in one who is heedful, ardent, & resolute.

May all find firm fear of doing only a little wrong, no matter the reason, and put faith in the basic simple precepts in advanced, till the three knowledges arise by given cause and no more wrongdoing and lower states are then impossible to fall into, the many times slayered in prisons, or behind a fest for meal, having come then to an end.
