Topic Summary

As told, my person has started anew the undertaking to implement the Sangha-gift in the given enviroment, starting in testing with AN01 khmer http://forum.sangham.net/index.php/page,sut.an.01.v01_pikm.html

Step 1. General transformation and html creating

  • Renaming the files according into the standard system started in the Khmer-transcription undertaking . Names should be redundant with the indexes and the index-xls-files and if needed edited equal.

    {1}.{2}.{3}.{4}_{lang|script}_{author}.html

    1: Pitaka
    2: Nikaya
    3: Vagga (optional)
    4: sutta
    5: sutta-sub (optional)
    lang: pi (Pali), en (Englih), km (Khmer)...
    script: km (for Khmer) la (for Latin) (optional)
    author: if more than the original one by code similar to ZzE

    Sample: sut.an.01.v01_pikm.html

  • Converting the xml-tags into html
Code: [Select]
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="tipitaka-khmr.xsl"?>
<TEI.2>
<teiHeader></teiHeader>
<text>
<front></front>
<body>

replaced with (css link according script):

Code: [Select]
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://forum.sangham.net/tipitaka-khmr_sangham.css" />

rend=" replaced with class="

bodytext" n=" replaced with bodytext" id="para

<hi replaced with <span

/hi> replaced with /span>

pb ed=" replaced with a id="

pb ed=" replaced with a id="

"/> replaced with ></a>

" n=" replace with nothing (to combine the code)

chapter" with chapter" id="" name="" text="Anchor="

subhead" with subhead" id="" name="" text="Anchor="

  • adding Anchor id's according and redundant to Standard found in Khmer-Transc (like file name)

Sample: <p class="chapter" id="s001-010" name="s001-010" text="Anchor=s001-010">

  • replacing footer with "Source-info" according the language.
Code: [Select]
</body>
<back></back>
</text>
</TEI.2>

With (for the khmer files, note no prove read & spelling correction done yet, see ឯកសារយោង Translation or prove read of source text sangham-Cscd khmer )

Code: [Select]
<p class="source"><b>Source :<b> CSCD - Chaṭṭhasanghayāna, Sanghadāna originated from the goodness of Upāsaka Goenka and Vipassana Research Institute, 02 May 2013 ( http://www.tipitaka.org/khmr/cscd/s0401m.mul0.xml ) stored and maintained by sangham.net for the sublime Sangha of the eight directions. Last edit : 2018-02-20 It is not for any commercal use, not given to be shared on commercial places and not for any purpose to gain wordily rewards, even suggesting Dāna. <a href="http://forum.sangham.net/index.php/page,sut.an.01.v01_pikm.html">sut.an.01.v01_pikm</a></p>

  • adding sutta-code (redundant to standard) and anchor after the specific p-opening tag. Sample:
<p class="chapter" id="s001-010" name="s001-010" text="Anchor=s001-010"><a class="sgmid" id="sut.an.01.v01">sut.an.01.v01[/url] ១.

  • creating the article

- Titel like source book (file)

- Query title like new file-name without .html Sample: sut.an.01.v01_pikm

- category: booktitle in la and lang script, if not existing to be created. Sample:

- other settings like in sample

- pre-view text incl. Nikaya, book, chapter

  • if finished and uploaded, file can be further edited under certain "project" Adding anchors and infos such as book-page and paragraph no. of other sources (here book-edition)

Note: This is a file by file, command by command edit specification and good if done book by book minimum. For further progress for next stages, files might be good also uploaded or exchanged as files for more global editions.

Suggestions and alternatives are always a possibility for merits and of course not restricted or excluded.

* Johann "No, no, no... 'We' are not here to produce a certain product or to make a trade, and we are not not here because things are burdensome. 'We' are still here to gives those with eyes possibilities to make use of the grate field of merits and rather to leave just pictures and stories of path suppliers behind, 'we' give ways to engage and, with what ever remainder, 'we' serve out of garitude, making use of given till there is really no more way to make use of the most tiny gift, yet look at this wealth here as field to serve the juwels. What are you scared for in giving it up? Given? Or do you might seek for just gain to give or just holding the Uposatha of the wolf ? Others might have objectives in the world, for the worlds sake and therefore accept to harm it. It's not a pleasure for worthy and wise to make or being required to make use of things not proper gained, not to say actually impossible if becoming aware.
Let the traders trade, the Robin Hoods robbery, the fools get fooler and the wealth enjoy their heritage away. Keep possibilities for many possible visible and accessable, path vanish only if no one walk on them, sometimes, back and forth might be also required, but all on the path, wether already beyound or not."

Just on to start anew. Lets see first a little of what might work with the given well

My person thinks to follow the structure "developed" in the Khmer-tipitaka section, renaming the CSCD files accordingly, put the files in equal directories (categories), meaning just one for all languages and scripts and make use of a language, script, author prefix.

_pikm for Pali in Khmer script
_en_uppa for English by Uppalavana

Once the motherfiles in Pali are good complete and with proper anchors, they can then be used for other languages.

The xml-tags as well as anchor structur are done as here for a sample, with simple and manual replacements without regex and manual edits, best done properbly by category after category. Another time my person started by AN01

(rebuild footer and info part not sure for now, also not in regard of making use of blocks - which would incl. the possibility of php as well and not sure if smart now as a new release of Tiny-portal is out, if struggling much with layout, so my person will propable "just" prepare the htmls and load them up in a admin section for later use.)

Just came accross that it seems that ñ has become ṇ on most of the texts during the uft8 "crash" and of cause also most of the indexes listing DN, MN and AN ...  ^-^ looks like a long journey ... maybe a good point to let go and leave it for the traders.

One most be certain stupid to think it is possible to manage what nobody aside traders in Dhamma are really interested in - yet even having all skills and means not capable, they are also not - dwelling in the forest with a 100cm2 display of a smartphone without means and not a little skill in anything... and at the same time looking that fools do not harm themselves and many.

Thats real stupid, yes.  :)

Subject:    probably pending issue Khmer-Tipitaka and question
Date:    Wed, 30 Dec 2015 13:09:35 +0700

Valued Upasaka Thomas Crisman,

currently staying with Ven Bhante Indannano Thera (Dhammayutthika Nikaya), a well trained Pali-scholar (studied till the highest possible degree here), who currently enjoys your given possibility to read the Pali Commentary in Khmer, gave Atma the feedback that there is a common wrong usage of letters fond in the Tipitaka, edited by you:

ព្ព which is equal the roman bb is generally written as ព្វ (bv) in Khmer, which is a general rule of the script and can be found in the ancient scripts of Pali as well. For example the word ពុព្ពរាមេ (bubbarāme) would be written ពុព្វរាមេ (bubvarāme) correctly.
Maybe this can be corrected and hopefully does not cause to many technical troubles.

Since the Khmer-Pali Commentary is not available as book in Cambodia and only less have access to it, Atma would like to ask if it would be proper for you, in the case laypeople wish to do so, to make a printed edition of it and if it would be possible that Vipassana research institute would like to contribute a foreword and explaining to such an edition in advanced.

Atma came to know that there has been a certain Monk who printed a version of the Pali Commentaries (its sad that he had it from the interent) but more details about origin are not known.

Atma hopes and trusts that Upasaka Thomas Crisman enjoys good health and has enough time to spend with the Dhamma.

Sadhu!

The css-Link issue is fixed so far. Atma made a sketch for a menu bar and its maybe good to get the Tipitaka pages free of other unrelated blocks. Just a link-tree block maybe and a block for advanced search (which Atma is still searching for)

Here the sketch for the html menu bar (which should include links to different languages of the certain sutta as well):

Code: [Select]
<div id="H_crumbtrail">

<ul class="crumblist">

<ul id="toolMenu">

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://forum.sangham.net/tipitaka-latn_sangham.css" />

Code: [Select]
  UPDATE `tp_articles`
 SET `body` = replace(body, '<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="tipitaka', '<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://forum.sangham.net/tipitaka');

  UPDATE `tp_articles`
 SET `intro` = replace(intro, '<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="tipitaka', '<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://forum.sangham.net/tipitaka');

Darf man übrigens schon Diplomingenieur sagen?

Danke.
