While in a world where "modern" countries tend hardly to put down and order to remove all traditional symbols of veneration, religion and respect at large:

Althought it is short before election and could be suspected as "simply political strategy", it's to be regarded as a generously and volunteer act of merits to guide ones "children" and all other to protective deeds for long time benefits. At least it goes comform to all personal experiances in regard of tendency of the leaders toward the countries monks and Buddha Dhamma.

Not that it not only said, that ones age, estimate (beauty), happiness and strength is increasing, if constantly respecting those worthy of respect, it is also said that a country protecting his contemplatives and Arahats, hold to traditions and respect scared objects can not be taken over by others.

In regard of the monks it is an obligation to make themselves really and most blameless being worthy to receive gifts and this one is as all gifts a heavy debt and force to practice in accord of the Dhamma-Vinaya and get not involved in what ever wordly affairs improperly. Let it be wished that all monks, even not declared also by wordly laws (like suggested by monastic leaders as well), but strongly by Dhamma-Vinaya, get not involved by taking side and abstain form making use of such in elections as a repayment of this meritious gift and also proper respect of others wordly affairs.

May all rejoice with the in all directions a better causing merits of putting the Tripple Gems in what ever situation on the highest position to be a leading reminder of the long time benefits of generosity, virtue, concentration and wisdom:

Monks to sit higher at events

From now on, organisers must arrange seating at events so that Buddhist monks sit higher than the people and the king, according to Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Speaking at a Council of Ministers meeting on Friday, Mr Hun Sen called for greater respect of Buddhist monks, saying that they must sit at least 20 centimetres higher than the people at places and events attended by monks.

“The king’s seat is a bit lower than the Buddhist monks’ seats. I am sure the king himself is not jealous of that, given the king also worships the monks,” he said. “We do this to show our respect to the role of Buddhist monks in our society.

“The Ministry of Cults and Religion must issue instructions about the ceremonial way of arrangement to show greater respect to Buddhist monks, given the fact that Buddhism is the religion of the state as written in our constitution,” he added. ...

Sadhu!

May the seven real treasures , the treasure of conviction, the treasure of virtue, the treasure of conscience, the treasure of concern, the treasure of listening, the treasure of generosity, the treasure of discernment, constantly increase around its origination and all wordly success and wealth increase naturall with it. And may ther be never quick and not right discerning of what is on the right and on the wrong track, leading to benefical seclusion , for only one living near, not far, being involved at good and bad times, interacts and discusses for a long time, not a short, if discerning, not if not, is able to possible get the right way if not simply staying with the basics if not in the position to clearly see.

A good present given by a clean heart will never fail to bear it's fruits independent of that what others may be able to make use of.

Anumodana!
