What about a more general declaration, simply abound much effort in carry on of which has been shared previously not so proper, leave it up to others to improve their ways.

This is a gift of Dhamma dedicated for higher long term well-being and beyond. You are given to use it and build on it for what ever good, not harmfull for others, purpose in dedication toward the Buddha, the Dhamma and the Sangha. Whether you wish to give credits also toward the particular author personally or the paricular community of this generosity, beyond the Tripple Gems, is up to your inspiration.
In no way this gift is shared for improper use such as trade and commercial purposes incl. fondraising and also common charitable activities and exchanges. This incl. undertakings which have the purpose to gain personal/communal reputations. It's not given for undertakings which have the purpose of harming or depriving beings of existance or their possessions, not to transport what is not true, lying and encourage to such or dividing others, not to abuse and not for encouragements to consume means which cause heedlessness, not to use to force claims or blackmail something or for oppressions of what ever isn't given voluntary yet, which incl. political and strategical for what ever worldly affairs.

Thought and especially improvement in formulation and language are welcome.

Some FAQ - thoughts as to understand and build up on this...

What is the purpose of using "Dhamma-Dana-Declaration"?

For the giver it should be an easy way to express his gift and intention in giving. Others than copyright-declerations or licences the focus here is not to primaly serve certain laws and look best after ones rights, but to focus on the act of giving, while not forgetting the origin and to possible make the deed ethical high and skillful. In short: to gain the most merits in sharing.

For the receiver it should protect him from wordily string as much as possible, give him all possible freedom to share the merits and by explaining and expression, helping him to develope right view and gratitude in regard of the gift.

Do "Dhamma-Dana-Declaration" work inside certain law systems and does it use its function?

Only indirect. Since Dhamma-Dana-Declarations" are only useable for gifts without purpose of commercial use or other wordily gains, there is naturally less space for conflicts. The use of DDD does not release a certain giver to prove if that what he gives is his own and/or given to him/here. "DDD" does also not work as a disclaimer system and respects the truth that both, giver and receiver are responsible for their deeds.

DDD is not meant as a legal system or even replaces such. It does not touch laws, but provides simply with declarations which are in accordiance with skilfull deeds according the law of nature. Naturally, by reading also the explainings and tips to understand clearly normaly one would not touch any law an possible violate it, since it is build up eternaly on what is given, and does not incl.claims of rights and demands.

Kinds of Dhamma-Dana and origin, incl.suggested declaration:

Its maybe good to divide between differen declarations:

    • (offical) Direct Sangha-Origin and offical Translation of the Sangha "DDD-orig"

Used for the share of original Pali-teachings from the tipitaka and commentaries.
Its good here not to only mention that a use for commercial purpose and wordily gain is not given, but also that changes of the text is not allowed, one is of course given to share the Dhamma-Dana further, in any medium, may build on parts of it, translate...
    • (sanghadana) Any work declareted as Sangha-Dana "DDD-sgda"

Equal like the 1. but allowing the change if given as Sangha-Dana further.
    • (translation) Translations of single Persons, either Lay or Monastic "DDD-trans"

Different to the fist, it might be good and proper to give here the transformation free, so that others could later improve and build on it. Citing of the author optional and voluntary.
    • (comment) Teaching, Commentary, Dhammatalks, Sudies... "DDD-comm"

Giving possibility to share, remix and built on, for any medium incl. translation, Suggestion to mention Author and edits if made. Of cause like all Dhamma-Dana without commercial pupose.
    • (individual) For Dhamma-Dana derived with certain strings or personal restrictions "DDD-pers"

One might use this if certain things can not begiven during string addopted by the giver or wishes to give not all by an author. Possible be used if original author used to put it under certain licence or has certain wishes.

Material derived from commercial development, given for commercila use, or objected also for commercial use and wordily gains are not possible object for having a "Dhamma-Dana-Decleration", or not fitting into one of the decleration.

In regard of expressing "Right View" and "Right resolve" in indicators and headline:

    • Its not proper to declare a right, when intended to give.

While usual to claim first of all rights in the world, an attribute of giving is to declare is as such. So the use of "Right(s)" such as "copyrights" is not a proper use for declaration of a gift generally, not to speak of Gift of Dhamma.

    • It does not look proper use the expression "licence" intended to encourage to Right Resolve.

Even if licence indicate the giving of possibilities, given the origin of the word, licet means something like "you are allowed", "you have the right", might indicate the act of giving, the common use is not only again primily to restrict but also appears as "from below down". To authorise might be proper for the owner (inventor), yet possible not proper for the heirs to use. One more thing is, that it is also in connection with "unrestrained" and it does not seem to be good to encourage to "unrestrained" use since it includes unrestrained in unskillful ways as well.
The signation with an previous act might be well either in calling it "giving" e.g. "gift".

Being a gift of Dhamma, or having derived from Dhamma-gifts and now giving it further, and representing a declaration of such, a wording of "Dhamma-Gift-Declaretion" or "Dhamma-Dana-Decleration" "ddd" short ⓓ might be proper for fist indication and headlines.

    Possible name/headline:

"Dhamma-Dana-Declaration" which is of course not easy common understandable and might be called "Scope of this (Dhamma) - Gift".

    Possible logo and sign:

    Sign: ⓓ

    Logo:

In both, sign and logo, it carries not only the "d" of "d.d.d.", "Dhamma-Dana-Declaration" but also some reminders on the common known "ⓒ" (from "copyright") which migh make it easier to find it, since people at lage are used to look after such, in search of what the "gift" is about.

        ➡

Short: The "d" still contains the "c", while cutting of a part of it with its vertical line, which is pointing or directed upwardly and leaving the circle, breaking through it, Nibbana.

    Venerable members of the Sangha,
walking in front Fellows in leading the holly life.

     _/\_  _/\_  _/\_

In Respect of the Triple Gems, Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha, in Respect of the Elders of the community _/\_

    Valued Upasaka, Upasika, Aramika(inis),
    dear Readers and Visitors,

     *sgift*

Seeing many troubles with the modern use of licences and also the fact, that most licences do not really fit to what is "Giving Dhamma", Dhamma-Dana, at least in not expressing the purpose and intend as well as values, my person thought of why not trying to develope a dhammic alternative, useable aside a wordily adepts which have never "Right View" as forerunner, common, and so never "Right intent/resolve" as indicated intention.

Having started once with developing an alternative here , some parts are maybe useful.

    The main purposes:

    • To give a most proper declaration of "Gift of Dhamma"
    • To explain the gifts purpose and strings
    • To formulate it in ways that possible everyone could understand
    • To make the declaration easy useable
    • To possible protect (in this way) the "owner's" (executing and represented by the Savaka Sangha of Bhikkhus) fullfillment of duty to be able to hold and carry the heritage, the Sangha is given, on and maintain it. (Which is actually the most fundamental purpose)

The "material" or sensual graspable aim here is:

    • To produce a textual formulation (possible in many languages)
    • To dedicate and offer it to the Sangha
    • To possible share a place on internet, which not only maintains a copy of this "Dhamma-gift-Declaration" but also tools to make it easy to addopt and use for everyone who likes to use the declaration for his/here work.
    • To provide with eventual imperfect declerations, out of lacking proper given possibilities.
Please feel free, invited an most possible encouraged to contribute in this undertaking, in what ever way feeling inspired and gifted able to contribute in respect and devotion of the Lord Buddha, his Dhamma and the Noble Sangha, represented by the community Bhikkhus.

    Anumodana!
