Maybe of help:

Normal settings, when posting in a topic, would cause one to come to the index of the post.

If wishing to return to ones post, and not leave the topic, follow to change the settings in Modify Pofil >> Look and Layout: and check "Return to topics after posting by default."

That might make many things easier in the forest here.
