People, if even, know the monastery as "the of the Tudong-Monks, and is even in the nearest Villages often unknown since having not much contact with nearby people. It lies today in the surounding of a huge potato plantage of a Chinese company (it "Lee Pat" is well known) on its northen end, on the foot of the merely undiscovered hills.

The forest monastery Wat Srey Bua (Snake-woman), ស្រីពស់ was "founded" by forest monks who dwelled far of villages and people.
After people got attentive of some in the forest dwelling monks, this monastery came into being by the support of lay people, mostly from Phnom Penh.

In the time my person was given to dwell there, it was mainly managed by a lay woman from Phnom Penh who took conscious care of the needs of the dwelling monks.

As far as it was recognice able the monastery seems to have direct connection to the central Buddhist Meditation center in Udong, mosty called Adhara(s). Formal contact might be gained by using this contacts:

People in the monastery do not speak english (maybe one of the managing lay woman, Upasika Sophorn might still be able to share their telephone number) but as told by the leading Upasika there, they welcome also foreign guests and if they are informed of such a wish, they would happily try to invite an English speaking meditation teacher.

Wat Srey Bua(h) is outwardly a very nice and proper place for meditation practice, having a lot of seperate remote kutis (about 20) on its 0,5 km2 Forest compound and the dwelling Sangha is mostly inclinated to contemplative activities.
The mountains an deep forests are just some hundred meter far.

Going for alms outwardly is not usuall, but about 3 to 4 km walk through the today already complete sorrounding potato plantages settlements and Villages can be found of which people are joyful meeting "begging" monks. Monks are good supported by the involved lay people community in all regards and are good taught also in more eager Vinaya regards.

The current Abbott is a very compassionate person and welcoming Monks and lay people as well, interested in meditation, althought he him self does not teach.

The Monastary is often frequented by Vipassana and Meditation teacher, ordained or in white and is also very open to give groups the oppotunity to spend their retreats there.

Last year there was a big new Vihara near its final construction. A lage an remote situated meditation hall is situated in the east of the land, appart from other communal buildings.

Attached some screenshoots of the map given by google maps. (The straight distance to the blue point, Ashram Thmo Duk (http://forum.sangham.net/index.php/topic,2375.0.html), might be about 10km on road about 30)
