Title: Relation and formality between Bhikku(uni)s, Samaneras and Samanas
Post by: Dhammañāṇa on September 15, 2018, 01:48:29 PM
_/\_  _/\_  _/\_ Venerable members of the Sublime Sangha, Venerable Fellows in front and next,

Valued Upasaka, Upasika,
Dear interested,

having been "happy" to see people willing to guide "modern" and "western" fellows of the Tripple Gems, in good direction and to increase right view, and having been shown another time, that it's really a problem if not having the four foundations to grow in Dhamma, lacking Nissaya in many aspects, and not willing to olace Saddha on first place, my person takes leave to speak a little on a very difficult, yet easy topic, if following strict rules and duties in ones relation.

The "status" of Samanera, Samana, Bhikkhus and formal, as well ideal interaction in general.

May it of benefit for all who are capable to receive this imperfect piece of Dhammatalk, and may those who are able to make bad things good or good things excellent, out of compassion, correct incorrect or fill graps one could fall into by imperfect rendering.

Since the topic "respect" and "praise" and it's opposite is actually the heart of the path and teachings of the Buddha, it's touched only on many point a little, left open to investigate the matter and possible step fastly on the break if long time speeding in dark directions.

General on the topic, also in formal issues, one may feel invited to look at: apacayana (German for now), a imperfect englich version see: Respect and Veneration (http://forum.sangham.net/index.php/topic,2015.msg9334.html#msg9334).

Som anumodana puñña kusala!

/me : to correct, there are two seperate Dhammapada stories in regard of Veneration (probably not to mix althought giving into the same topic: the story is from Dhp 107 (http://zugangzureinsicht.org/html/tipitaka/kn/dhp/dhp.08.bpit_en.html#s-dhp-107), the citation is found at Dhp 109 (http://zugangzureinsicht.org/html/tipitaka/kn/dhp/dhp.08.bpit_en.html#s-dhp-107), the Story of an Ex-monks son and possible one account why such his trained by parents toward their children for young age on, and not as many today would say: "Just give into where yoz have joy within", since such an advice might be pleasant for defiments to get attracted but is of less compassion at least, toward those possible certain bound to one.
