Title: Support Rebuilding Wat Vimokkharam Melburne, Australia - Unterstützung beim Wied
Post by: Dhammañāṇa on September 04, 2017, 03:29:10 PM
May person was told by Bhante Hasapanno , that there is currently the undertaking to rebuild (old was burning down) the facilities of Wat Vimokkharam (http://forum.sangham.net/index.php/topic,8169.msg12523.html#msg12523) (forest monastery near Melburn), where he took on responsibilities in it realisation for the mixed Communitiy of Thai and forest tradition conected Dhammayut and Mahanikayan Ven. Sangha members.

Quote from: from the monasteries website (http://vimokkharam.net/site-re-development/), propably by the lay management
Site Re-development

The Planning Permit for the redevelopment of the site comes with some arduous demands before any actual building works can proceed.

The most significant of these is the design and construction of a number of retaining walls.  Most people may be aware of these areas that are largely made up of cuts into the hill, one at the back of the previously existing building extending along to the carport and behind the Kuti and the corresponding bank behind the sheds and compost toilet.

The Building Subcommittee have sourced fee proposals for the services of the following; a Land Surveyor, Building Surveyor and Structural & Civil Engineer.

We have also engaged the services of a draftsperson to produce the documentation required to call tenders on the works and to obtain a building permit.  He will work in conjunction with the Architect who has kindly donated his services to prepare the Schematic Design for the new Hermitage and will continue to assist with the Design Development.

Once all the various fee proposals have been received the Building Sub-committee can make the important decision how best to proceed forward with the relevant documentation.

Some of you may already be aware that we also hope to reconnect the mains power supply before the building works commence in order to make the living facilities on site at little easier.

Since any useful support does not only realise the project, but also gives most needed release for the Venerables to focus on practice and possible then also on sharing their merits, which is also more secondary, it's surely a good possibility for getting involved in what ever way and have joy with meritious deeds.

May the Venerables be soon releast from those burdens and may their have soon best enviroment for a comfortable dwelling.

To give those with eyes, especially also monks, some impressions of what it means to become slave of Buddhists and western/modern attitudes, maybe Bhante Hasapanno , his current Sangha and others often waste a lot of time on fruitless ground, may benefit from it. May those with Upanissay to the Gems will ever meet and support each others, untouched by those eager after wordily gain: Support Rebuilding Wat Vimokkharam Melburne, Australia (http://www.freesangha.com/forums/buddhism-news-and-articles/support-rebuilding-wat-vimokkharam-melburne-australia/) and just leave thoughts of metta for them behind.

Nyom Maria send my person the contact email of a a nephew once visited Vienna, cousin's son. Just could write him to invite to join what ever merits and share it further.

Sadhu!

Atma just remembered Nyom Sophorn s aunt from Australia who has the practice to spend the Pchom Pen time and Vassa to make merits in Cambodia, who even has aspirations to live a renounced life. Maybe Nyom likes to share it as well, as it is a very seldom opportunity and occasion to have such possible even near, here aunt and other family members in Australia if having the feeling that it might be good and benifical for all since they would propably not so knew about monasteries of good practicing monks.
