Mostly you are not trained to things like serving, giving and helping at first place, in the middle and till the end. You have been told that you have rights and you have been trained to develope equanimity to kill of all your lasting goodness, the householder equanimity.
Having a punch of merits you did not came and come in touch with suffering, the only suffering you know is not getting your rights fulfilled that you are told to have. So till today you have trained very well you defilments and even those running around with the trademarks of liberation of highest degrees give your defilements planty additional food for you defilements.
A poor person, in all regards of what you feel that it is conductive for deliverance, is not a little that danger as those who provide you with that you are now still after. Path and food can not be gained by consume, taking and the ways you are used to, but only be giving, letting go again and again, of what is not yours. And what is nit yours? Body and material things are not yours, feelings and moods are not yours, rememberance, "knowledge", "your past" is not yours, your ideas and concepts are not yours, your consciousness past, precent and desired is not yours.
Only by giving up what is not yours, you would be able to walk into the right direction. Its "easy" to gain what is desired since where ever is a demant will be supplieres.
Once entered the wrong path of wrong dependence, it will be more and more difficult to use even the lay down path for a possible holly life, just to consume further and waste your merits finally of.
Let all your ideas to be able to bend the warriors life on the level of you loosely ways go. Be sure, a person full od defilements, when gains, especially knowledge, accumulates it just for his own destroction and possibilities to grow on the path.
So it's good to maintain a good strategy, better to learn to serve and give, then dying on a self mixed medicine against symptoms.
